NRA just intervened to support a Miami Republican State Senate candidate
GOP candidate Marili Cancio just got caught hiding her entire pro-Trump twitter account last week.
The Florida NRA’s top bogeyman (a woman) named Marion Hammer just intervened in a Florida State Senate race by sending insincere praise to a F-Rated Democratic State Sen. Annette Taddeo.
“Unbelievable,” said Annette Taddeo, who told me in a published story at the time, that she didn’t want to “arm lunch ladies and janitors” by passing that version of the GOP’s gun reform legislation.
She wanted to hold out for a better deal.
“I was the sponsor of the amendment to repeal the NRA’s state pre-emption on local gun laws that helped them sue Andrew Gillum,” says Taddeo.
But now it appears that the NRA’s Marion Hammer — Florida’s most powerful lobbyist — shows her support for Republicans by sending love letters to their pro-gun reform opponents.
State Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez (D-39) said this on Twitter:
“Like @Annette_Taddeo (& @FarmerForFLSen) I voted NO on bill that armed teachers & didn’t do enough after Pulse & Parkland.”
“I did NOT get a disingenuous ‘thank you’ letter for it (hint: I am not on ballot this year).”
“Fla GOP getting desperate w this tactic.”
I tried to reach Marili Cancio on her cellphone, but the call was routed to a voicemail box that was full.
