MAGA is a slang word in Nigeria meaning sucker or fraud victim, and it has been for years (VIDEO)
Nigerians have known that “magas” are the victims of scams or frauds for years, and even have famous songs celebrating the successful consummation of schemes to separate suckers from their money.
No, I am not making this up.
There is video to prove it, and that’s not all.
“Magas don pay, shout hallelujah” goes the lyric from Kelly Hansome, which translated from pidgin English to standard English roughly means: “We just finished stealing from these suckers, thank God!”
Quora is pretty clear that maga is slang word there which refers to fraud victims or those who’ve been conned.
So is this Nigerian news story about American journalist Kurt Eichenwald’s discovery of the strange truth of this situation.
That happened a year ago.
So why write about it?
Well, I hadn’t heard about this particularly ironic fact.
